Elections for the Community Council take place at the beginning of each school year. Any parents interested in placing their names on the ballot for Community Council may email: desirae.roden@washk12.org or come into the school office. This is one of the many ways that we encourage our school community to become involved in the education process.
The next scheduled School Trust Land Community Council Meeting will be held on March 19, 2021 at 12:30pm in the Professional Development room.
**All meetings are open to the public & greater school community.
Tonaquint Intermediate Community Council serves as an advisory group to our school and is comprised of parents, teachers, and administrators. The Council assists and provides guidance in the development of our school improvement plan and oversees the distribution of State Trust LAND Funds. Members are nominated and elected for two-year terms.
The plan for trust LAND funds at Tonaquint Intermediate has two major dimensions –
There is money that needs to be spent at our school, and we need YOU to help us determine how to spend it.
Thank you for your interest in serving on the Trust LANDS Community Council at Tonaquint Intermediate.
More information regarding the work of the Council and the current plan can be found by visiting the School LAND Trust Website: https://www.schools.utah.gov/schoollandtrust

During the 2019-2020 school year we received approximately $92,917 from School Trust Lands. Our Community Council met to set the following funding priorities to support our main goal of supplementing teaching positions to help keep student/teacher ratios manageable so that teachers can offer the support to ALL students in their classes. First we supplemented teacher salaries through School trust Lands to lower student/teacher ratios. Throughout the year the Team Leaders and Data Coach reported specific academic data to the administration and Community Council for review which led to setting goals for student growth and monitoring.
If you have any questions about our Community Council and how funds are appropriated and used for Tonaquint Intermediate School, please contact any of the members on the Community Council. As always, any parent is invited, and encouraged, to be a part of the Community Council meetings.
